Gasoline is a very interesting topic as regards the rental of a car. In truth, it cannot be said that there is a good and a bad way to handle this matter: it could be said that there are three typical ways to handle this gasoline matter and one of them is better than the others, but it is not ideal. Anyhow, gasoline is a problem without solution. To be more precise, it will be a problem with one solution as many others: you will have to pay “a little extra”. We will now discuss three ways for you to handle gasoline in the rented car.

The first way is to pick up the car with the tank full and return it in the same way. The problem is that the Air Force does not allow for gas stations near the airports and the agencies are nearby that area. This means that you will have to fill the tank in gas stations far away from the place where you have to return the car and while going there you will consume gasoline that you will have to pay later on. For each gallon missing the agency will charge you much more than it costs if you do it yourself. This option is the best one even though we will have to pay extra. The best is to think that you will have to pay extra for gasoline and not worrying about how to save the money to do it.

The second option is generally used by small agencies. It has to do with the fact of not worrying about how the tank is. Obviously, this means that you will not know how much gasoline the car you are picking up has: you will not know whether you may drive 100 miles or three blocks. On the other hand, you will not know how much gasoline you will have to fill in the gas station. This option is like a roulette, it may go well and save gasoline or it can be a bother: depends on the case and it is up to you if you want to take the risk or not.

The third and last option is to have a full tank and pay for it when you pick it up making an average among the different prices that the gas stations nearby have. The problem with this is that if you do not leave the car with little or no gas so that it cannot be driven, you will lose money. We should repeat what was mentioned before: you had better not get mad thinking how to solve this problem and bear in mind that anyhow you will have to pay extra for the car, which represents the gasoline price.

Gasoline options are very tempting, but there must be a more convenient one for you according to the trip you plan to do. Although all options have recharged fees in some way or another, it is likely that, according to the way you will use the car, one of them will be much more suitable for you. Having this in mind you can start thinking from now on which option is best for you and you will not have to decide this in a hurry at the agency desk and with people waiting behind you. We recommend that you find out if the agency you plan to hire offers these gasoline options or just one of them. Maybe you are lucky and you are offered an alternative which is not described here and which is ideal for you.
